iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 latest Firmware ROM update

iBerry has officially rolled out a firmware update that fixes most of the issues found on the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 handset when it was initially launched. Here is a brief review of the same handset with the ROM update.

The new ROM update is more stable and gives a better performance as compared to what we have seen on the initial version.

The new ROM comes with default icons and is hardly customized, thankfully the launcher app (iBerry customized) that made the system unstable has been removed. The Auxus Nuclea N1 comes powered by 1.5GHz MT6589T quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. There is 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. The screen is 5 inches with Full HD resolution.

Let’s compare the benchmark scores
Benchmark tool            Old ROM                                         New ROM
Quadrant                      4801                                                5665
Antutu                         10228                                               14632
Vellamo                        HTML5 (1547) Metal (515)              HTML5 (1563) Metal (516)
Nenamark2                   34.3 fps                                           34.1 fps

As you can see there is a good improvement. The performance is smooth – the best way to check it was, by playing some high end games. I tried the Dead Trigger in high graphics mode and the MC4 or Modern Combat 4 both of these worked well. There is a very mild lag (at times) when playing the MC4 game probably because the game is installed on the external SD card (class 4). The handset does get heated up (when playing games for a longer period) which I believe is normal. Battery life seems to have improved.
